John Markey is a principal and founder of The Huntley Group, a real estate consulting firm that provides acquisition/disposition analysis, development and asset management.
With over 30 years experience in commercial and residential development and management, John is responsible for the asset management of the McKnight Group’s major properties, such as the Heinz 57 Center, 525 Vine Street, One Indiana Square, Park Central and Two Woodfield Lake.
For the past seven years, John and The Huntley Group have acted as Development Manager for the transformation of the former Gimbel’s department store in downtown Pittsburgh into a fully leased class-A office building (Heinz 57 Center).
John was previously a partner of WCB Properties, a partnership of former key executives of Hillman Properties and Whitehall Real Estate Investments LP (a Goldman Sachs & Co. affiliate). The partnership owned in excess of 11 million square feet of commercial and residential properties.
As Vice President of Development for Hillman Properties, John managed the development process in the U.S. Northeast of over two million square feet of commercial property. Hillman Properties (a multifaceted commercial and residential real estate development, management and investment company) was involved as owner and partner in approximately 114 properties in 21 states.
